Frequently asked questions

What exactly is MindFeed?

Please see our about us section for more information on this topic.

What do I need to use MindFeed?

MindFeed currently works on Windows Mobile and Windows CE devices and is free to download.

We plan to support other systems in the future should there be enough demand and resources to do so.

For detailed information on the minimum requirements needed to run MindFeed please see our downloads section.

Who can see my data?

With MindFeed's customisable privacy settings you can allow as many or as few people see your recorded data. Maybe you want to hide your location, but allow people to see who you have bumped in to. Everything is fully customisable to suit your needs.

For applications written by 3rd parties that make use of the MindFeed API, you will be able to specify what data that application can use. Please note that some applications may not work if you do not allow them access to certain data. For example an application that informs you of all the people you have met today would require access to this data in order to function.

You can change your privacy settings at any time.

How does MindFeed work?

Please see our about us section for more information on this topic.

How much does Mindfeed cost to use?

The basic version of Mindfeed is free to download and use.

However please bear in mind that if you make use of the "live feed" feature, or upload your data via the use of your mobile phone network connection on any version of MindFeed, you may be charged at your mobile phone provider's internet surfing rate. Please check with your mobile phone company for exact details of this.

We also offer a "SuperFeed" service which is a monthly subcription giving you access to premium features and priority processing over regular users. See the SuperFeed section for more details.

Why do we charge for the SuperFeed service?

The services offered by SuperFeed are usually processor or bandwidth intensive and thus take up more of our server’s resources. If we offered all of these services for free, a single server would be unable to cope with thousands of users throwing data at it, hence we need to buy new ones to keep our service to you fast and reliable. Buying new reliable servers is pricey, and as much as we would like to offer this for free, it is not currently feasible to do so.
